Investigation Update: An Islamist group known as Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia (HAYI), believed to be aligned with Iran, has claimed responsibility for the attack online.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley stated that while it is too early to definitively attribute the attack to the Iranian state, the "rapid growth of Iranian state threats is grave."
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer condemned the incident as a "deeply shocking, antisemitic attack," emphasizing that such hatred has no place in British society. The incident has triggered protests in London, with members of the Jewish community demanding increased security and action against hostile state actors.
The group claiming responsibility has reportedly emerged since the start of the current Iran conflict and has recently claimed similar attacks against Jewish institutions in Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and Liege.
Security services across Europe remain on high alert as investigators work to determine the authenticity of the group's claims and their potential links to Tehran.
